| SPY / AD WARE This little essay is a scathing catharsis on all of you profiteers and carpetbaggers that promote the use of Adware and Spyware, thinking that you will profit from annoying people, and wasting their time with your bullshit advertising or your time-wasting data mining. I recently purchased a brand new Compaq Presario V4332US notebook PC, and tghe fist day I had it - before I could install virus protection on it (it came with Symantec virus software preinstalled), it got infected with over 1,300 of these nasty nuisances. PC Tools Spyware Doctor, and AOL's MacAfee utilities was able to eradicate the pests, and I wasted two days reinstalling the Operating System (XP Professional), and restoring my original files. THERE SHOULD BE A LAW AGAINST THIS SHIT! FIRST OF ALL - Do you assholes REALLY believe that someone pays attention to your advertisements when they pop up in the middle of their spreadsheets or legal term papers? Do you think that people ENJOY being annoyed by encroachments on their productive time by some bullshit advertisement that destroys their train of thought? Well, of course you do - that's why do you infect the Internet with all of these Trojans and E-mail infections! It only betrays your Neanderthal (not that I believe there ever WAS a Neanderthal) mentality, and puts off those who would otherwise seek you out via the search engines - when they were in the market for what you're selling. SECONDLY - I personally make it a point to AVOID doing business with any firm that uses Adware, Spyware, or Pop-up Advertisements that interfere with my productive time at this computer. I encourage everyone reading this little essay to do likewise. If we send a clear message that they are pissing off potential customers, we might see an end to this crap. THIRDLY - I go onto the web sites of the advertisers, find their E-mail buttons, and send them all the useless bullshit I can find; I just attach it to the e-mail - I have a special "anonymous" E-mail account reserved for just this purpose. I jam their mailbox so full of crap, that it completely buries any message they might get from a potential customer. If I can find a "WEBMASTER" link, I also sign them up for all sorts of other "GOOD SHIT" - if you know what I mean. If their ads REALLY pissed me off, then I dig out my copy of what I call "The CLOCK VIRUS" and send it to them in a self-extracting E-mail. "Tic-Toc" is a nasty little bugger that infects the PC's ticker - generating random numbers for the time - which really screws up file copies and "briefcase" files. Occasionally, this handy little bug deletes the COMMAND file, or appends a byte or two of random data to it... eventually, your OS gets too big to load into that 512 Meg. No software on the market even DETECTS this bug - the "infection" is done with a handy little ROM burner (the same shell type program you use to upgrade your CMOS chips) that also randomly sets the "REGION" in the CD-ROM drive to EUROPE, then US, then EUROPE, and lastly to ASIA... until the poor bastard has to REPLACE his CD-ROM/DVD drive. The only way to get rid of the Clock Virus is to remove the CMOS battery from your motherboard, and leave it out for an hour or so. - Ohh... please don't ask me for a copy of it... I got it years ago from friends at US DOD, and it takes special software to "handle" it - and you risk infecting your own PC if you don't know how to operate the "shell"... enough said.
If only I had the ability to "....send the lightnings" ! - (see the book of Job).
