| Port Security Not that I'm an "authority" on security. Far be it for me to represent myself as anything other than the "average Joe" on this issue, but turning over port security to Dubai Ports International is like putting the fox in charge of the hen house. Didn't the Bush Administration know that the majority of the alleged 9-11 hijackers were not Afghanis, and were not Iraqis; that they were Saudi? Well, what does it matter? A government that is so incompetent when it comes to the interdiction of drugs, cannot possibly protect us from a gallon jug full of weaponized anthrax or E-Bola. Sorry to burst the safety and security "bubbles" of some of you out there, but it's either WAKE UP, or WAKE UP DEAD. I am concerned for the lives and liberty of all Americans, and I don't see how putting untrustworthy potential enemies in charge of our ports is going to make this country "secure" from terrorism. What will make us safe from terrorism, is the cessation of support for terrorist nations, and the withdrawal of our troops from places where we have no legitimate business. An American soldier's job is not to "bring democracy" to the world. The military's function is to defend these shores from enemy attack. All of the wars since 1914 have been fought for other reasons than the American people were led to believe.
