Abortion is NOT a Privacy Issue You can get a copy of this sermon by clicking this link I have heard it discussed too many times by ignorant people, for the pro-death[1] argument to make sense; that the decision in Roe v. Wade[2] is predicated on a woman’s right to choose what she does with her own body. This argument is flawed on several points: Point #1: The main argument in Roe, was NOT a matter of an unconstitutional invasion of privacy prohibiting abortion (previously called “infanticide”), but rather whether or not a fetus or zygote, (or a newly-fertilized egg, for that matter) is in fact a human being with the Constitutionally protected right to life, or is in effect little more than an annoying carbuncle to be excised at will. The court spent a great deal of debate on this issue, and due to political pressure, it reached the wrong conclusion. Point #2: If the argument was based on the “privacy” issue alone – the status of the baby as human or unviable tissue mass notwithstanding – then it could be argued that it is my Constitutionally protected right to murder anyone I wanted to, so long as it had something to do with “my body”, and I did it “in private”. Point #3: Scott Peterson was convicted of two murders, when he killed his wife, thereby causing the death of her unborn... unviable tissue mass? Point #4: The issue of “choices made in private” cannot be infringed upon by the government – even if they wanted to infringe upon them: a. You have a “choice” to abstain from sex. Of course, who am I to pontificate? I’m a man; I’ll never have to “choose”. Baloney! Men share in all but the first half of the last of those choices. However, in this society, and in certain “cultures”, men have become little more than sperm donors, and actually boast about how many “baby moms” they have out there. That is the other side of the tragic – the mother choosing to have the baby, and the sire not man enough to provide a father for that child. I know some people don’t like to hear the TRUTH, and I’m not a diplomat; not by any stretch. I don’t mince words, and I call it as I see it... that’s why some people tried to shut down this Web site. Too damn bad! Can’t stand the heat? Get the hell out of the kitchen! If you want to have an abortion, or perform one – God! I can’t imagine being so spiritually and morally dead to be able to cut a baby in pieces – I can’t physically stop you. I can’t legally stop you. I can’t say, “I don’t care”, because I’d be a liar. What I can do is to speak out against it, and show it for the evil and the horrific crime that it is. I am one man – for now – running a little Internet Christian ministry. I counsel people when they call. I try to be the ear that hears, listens, understands, and empathizes without criticism or harsh judgment. I’ve learned from bitter experience that what may seem to be the best decision – the “easy” way out – is almost never what it appears to be. The issue is not “privacy”. If you’re a young girl “in trouble”, it is NOT the end of the world, although it may seem that way. There is no “easy” way out. God said in His Word,”... I will provide a means of escape...”. That “escape hatch” is often unpleasant... but it is a way out. We reap what we sow... no exceptions to the rule. Sorry. Having made a poor “choice”, many people somehow come to the erroneous conclusion that another equally bad choice will set things right... “No one will ever know”, or “It’s nobody’s business but yours”, the pro-death people will tell you. I’m here to tell you that they’re liars, and they know that they’re liars, and if they seem caring, compassionate, and understanding while encouraging you to murder your baby, then, my dear girl, you are standing in the pit of hell and the demons are hissing around you, dividing your soul amongst them. Pray. Flee! “Resist the Devil, and he will flee from you”[3], scripture promises. For over 33 years, “the law” in this country has been guilty of what Jesus Christ called, “... straining at a gnat and swallowing a camel”[4]. Sociology calls it “Boundary Maintenance”. This is simply creating the apparency[5] of being a moral society (or an ethical person) in our own minds, by prosecuting and persecuting people for abusing their cats, while condoning under the “law”, the most atrocious and horrific of murders; straining at gnats, and swallowing camels. When faced with the hidden atrocities – over 4,000 committed daily in the US, we display the “front” that we abhor abuse of children, cats, lizards, and butterflies, and we deny the infanticides by engaging in the exact rationalization that Hitler and his demons used to justify the genocides of WWII. Malcolm Muggeridge put it most eloquently: “Surely some future Gibbon[6] surveying our times will note sardonically[7] that it took no more than three decades to transform a war crime into an act of compassion, thereby enabling the victors in the war against Nazi-ism to adopt the very practices for which the Nazis had been solemnly condemned at Nuremberg...” [8] The most equitable solution to the abortion debate will be when people come to terms with the fact that a human being is much more than a body. Probably the most profound secular definition of just exactly what a human being is, can be found in the Science of Dianetics, and the Scientology[9] religion that grew out of it. The axiom is simply: “You are you – in a body”. The “mind” (or “brain”) is simply an interface that allows the non-corporeal soul (or “Thetan”) to interact with the physical universe. If you think about it, there is both a logical and scriptural rationale for the belief that a human being is “human” – is a person – from the moment of conception. Scripture tells us “…for thou lovedst me before the foundation of the world.”[10] If a person could be loved before the beginning of the world, then it stands to reason that a human being becomes “human” when the “soul” or “Thetan” acquires a body – and that process begins at the moment sperm meets egg. In addition, in countless double blind experiments done by L. Ron Hubbard and the Church of Scientology since the early 1950s, it was demonstrated beyond any doubt that a human being could remember actual events and recall conversations verbatim, right back to the night they were conceived. This information could not possibly have been stored in the “brain”, because at 1 hour after conception, the brain doesn’t exist. Since the information can, in fact be recalled, the question naturally arises as to where it is stored. The answer: the soul or Thetan. You (who are really a soul) are you – occupying a physical body… temporarily. “For what is your life? It is even a vapour, that appeareth for a little time, and then vanisheth away"[11]. Just as we are much more than we appear to be, an unborn baby is much more than it appears to be… or more precisely, much more than some people are willing to admit. Life is precious, and it should be revered, protected, cherished, and celebrated.
