Every Jeep owner I know has a Fire Extinguisher mounted somewhere in their vehicle. Most of them mounted theirs on the Roll Bar, but I wanted mine within easy reach – you never know when you'll come across a Hummer on fire (lol). I decided that the best place would be on the tub floor to the left of the driver's seat. However, when I lifted the carpet to drill the holes for the bracket screws, I found the vehicle's I.D. plate.... so I removed the plate, bent it in a gentle arc lengthwise, and relocated it to the Roll Bar
behind the driver's seat using self-drilling metal screws. Given a choice of which I would prefer to be within reach in case of a fire; an I.D. plate under the carpet, or a Fire Extinguisher, I chose the latter.
If you prefer to
mount your Fire Extinguisher
on a Roll Bar, use a Smittybilt Fire Extinguisher Holder.
thing to have in case of an emergency is LifeHammer Emergency Hammer.
A Jeep with a Soft Top is easy to get out of
in case of a crash or rollover; but if you have a Hard Top, or must
escape from a vehicle, or rescue someone from a car that has all-around
glass, a LifeHammer
is ten bucks very well spent.
